Me before you is a charming movie of a man who was paralyzed for the neck down. He had been very depressed and miserable since his accident. He was always in a bad mood and treated everyone poorly, even though they were trying to help him. A woman comes into his life to help provide him company. She is paid to be a caregiver and attempt to provide him some semblance of life. Sadly, his misery would lead to his demise.
Needless to say, the movie is good. It has a wonderful moral, but ends on a sad note. If you do not support euthanasia, don’t watch the movie.
The movie was a good couples movie, but it is not appropriate for kids.
I would give it 3 stars for story.
I would give it 1 star for family safe.

The original Finding Nemo was very funny. It was was filled with nonstop entertainment. As with so many sequels this movie did not live up to the original.
The movie itself was cute and the story original. It was presented as the opposite of Nemo. This time Dory is attempting to find her family and Nemo and his dad are trying to locate Dory.
The little kids liked the show. It kept their attention. Nevertheless, unlike the first movie that appealed to adults and parents as well, this one did not.
For family safety I would give it 5 stars.
For the overall movie I give it 2 stars.

I think Nicholas Sparks has hit his climax and is now going down. This movie was the exact same as all of his other stories. They fall in love, a tragedy happens and then it all works out. half way through the movie I could predict what would happen.
I was actually let down because his previous stories were very good. The movie was good for what it was, but they need to come up with a more original story. To tell how boring the movie was, my wife fell asleep while watching it.
The movie also seemed to promote cheating. The woman cheated on her boyfriend with the main character. The main character was dating an ex-girlfriend when he cheated with the woman. The movie was not family appropriate and was very boring for most romantics.
As for family safety I give it 2 stars.
For the movie as a whole I also give it 2 stars.

I love the work of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Their movie Baby Mama was hilarious and it reminded us of the biological mother of our two youngest kids.
Sisters moved very slow at first. It built a good back story but the first 30 to 45 minutes was very boring. Interestingly, the two actresses actually took on opposite roles than I expected. While Poehler is usually more of the carefree comic relief and Fey is typically the serious no nonsense character. In this movie Fey was the wild one, while Poehler worked to keep it all together. However, by the end Fey learned to take responsibility for her actions.
The movie turned out to be very funny. It was not appropriate for kids. There were several sexual oriented moments and foul language, drug, and alcohol abuse was throughout. Nevertheless, the overall moral of the story was very good.
For a family safe movie I have to give it 1 star.
For the overall movie I give it 2 stars.

So the boys and I went to see the new Captain America Movie. The first thing I learned, I need to get all of the other Captain America and Avengers movies because I did not understand what was going on. Also, I learned very quickly that I did not like Tony Stark.
Needless to say, the movie was good. I loved how they tied in all the other characters. I hated the spider man character. I really wish they would have used the Ultimate Spiderman actor.
I also like the spiritual overtones of the movie. The whole divided kingdom will fall.
As for the movie there was no sexual content, some language and violence but over all it was a good movie.
I give it 3 stars for family safety.
I give it 4 stars for the movie as a whole.

After their parents go missing, two brothers begin working to find them. They discover that their parents are actually more than just an average family. Instead their parents hunt all over the world for legendary artifacts from fairy tales.
The premise of the movie was alright but it was not well made. There was no sexual content or foul language. It is rated PG and would be safe for family.
It did not keep the kids interest. I would not recommend it for quality.
As a movie I would give it 2 stars.
For family safety 4 stars.

Wow, all I can say is wow. So my kids have been pressuring me to rent and let them watch Deadpool. As a teacher and a foster parent I try to watch movies in advance as not to allow them to watch something that is not appropriate.
So I rented it. The effects are awesome. The way they put the story together is great. Family friendliness nada, nope, zilch, not appropriate for kids. So I told knew that it was not going to be a family movie. I have seen all of the memes and the reviews. I have talked to kids at school and on and on.
Very graphic sexual content. Blood and gore. The language is appalling. It has to be the all time worst marvel flick that they have made. There was a funny comment by Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) about his real life acting ability.
Wow.
As the movie goes I would give it 3 stars as a macho action movie.
For family friendliness 0 stars if I could give it negative stars I would.

Recently the kids wanted to see the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. It seemed like it would be a good show, they liked the others that we watched, and we record the TV episodes.
We rented the movie. We all really liked it. The movie started out slow. The little kids tuned out pretty quickly. However, after David and Samantha, his girl friend, left for out of town, the movie began picking up.
I really appreciated the message of the movie. It demonstrated several important facts. First, we should be open to new situations. The Chipmunks were fearful of Dave’s increasing interest in Samantha. They were scared that the chance of a new family would take away their freedom, and ultimately ruin their family.
Secondly, it is important that we be willing to accept new people. The boys disliked Samantha’s son, Miles. He bullied them in an attempt to break up their parents. After the adventure begins the chipmunks and Miles gain a mutual respect for each other and by the end they begin to like one another. By the end of the movie they are practically family.
For story line, I give the movie 4 stars.
For family safety I give the movie 5 stars.

In this older movie from DreamWorks. The movie is about a wild stallion who was captured by General Custer’s army. He is able to escape with the help of a Native American.
Unknowingly, the horse puts himself in the care of the native american tribe and they ultimately gain the trust of the horse. The young Indian builds a positive relationship with him. Finally, they have a battle with Custer’s army which ultimately leads to the horse of the young Native relying on each other more than ever before.
The movie was cute for an older movie. It kept the student’s attention. I was very surprised that so many of the students had not already seen the movie.
There was no inappropriate content and it was well made. The story line was done well and I would recommend it for families, especially for families with younger children.
I would give the movie 4 stars for story and creativity.
I would give the movie 5 stars for family safety.

Again as a disclaimer the movie did not fit the book. I feel like the differences made a major change to the story.
Nevertheless, for a person who had not read the book, this movie was good. They make up and effects were gruesome. There was a small amount of drug use which was similar to the book. There way they met Brenda and Jorge was seemingly on track. The ending of the story was very different than in the book.
The makers of the movie did well at adapting the movie from the book. As with the Maze Runner book it would be better for older children, adolescence to teen. It would not be appropriate for younger children. There was definitely violence and other adult situations.
For the story I give it 3 stars.
For family safety I give 3 stars.
